I’m Jen — writer, commentator, enthusiastic observer of culture.
I created JENeral Commentary as a home for hot news, deep dives, and honest reviews across entertainment, travel, and life as we live it. This platform is part blog, part editorial, part escape plan. It’s where you’ll find reviews with range and commentary that doesn’t pull punches.

🎤 Where It All Started

I was Chief Editor at the pop culture site PopStar.com for over 6 years. I’ve interviewed the likes of Billy Bob Thornton, Adam Lambert, Jackie Collins, Simon Cowell, and Ariana Grande, just to name a few. There were hundreds in all and I learned something unique from each and every one of them.

Whether I was reviewing a concert, spotlighting a rising star, or posting daily entertainment news, one thing never changed: I brought my full voice to the mic.

I’ve also written in the self-help space as a Certified Life Coach, publishing the eBook 5 Steps to Freedom from Fear and creating a post-divorce course called Girl, You’ve Got This.

🧠 Why I Do This

Pop culture matters.
Not because it’s flashy or viral — but because it reflects who we are. It teaches us, shapes us, gives us space to escape, to dream, to connect.
I built JENeral Commentary to offer exactly that: a voice-driven media space where readers can tap into nostalgia, debate hot topics, or just scroll through cultural gems with a glass of wine or a cold brew in hand.

And lastly.... Sagittarius sun ☀️ here. Which means travel bug, fire sign, and always on the hunt for good stories and better food.

🌎 Beyond the Headlines

Travel is my second language. I’ve reviewed some great destinations, written travel guides, and plan to collaborate with hotels, airlines, and resorts to share honest recommendations, clever tips, and the kinds of locations that change your perspective — not just your photo roll. I also plan to feature my favorite travel hacks and products that make travelling a stellar experience. Face it, we don't get to do it often enough, so make it count.

Favorite places? Caesar’s Palace (Vegas), Central Park (NYC), Cemetery Beach (Grand Cayman), Ghirardelli Square (SF), Shakespeare and Company, (Paris), and the Rifle River in Northern Michigan.
